My name is Mia Zaidi Simmons and I am 14. In December 2014 I went to Siem Reap, Cambodia and had the privilege to visit the children of the Leap Chass village. I fell in love with these kids, and we spent the entire day with them playing soccer and getting to know the kids. After we left, I started supporting a 5 year old girl named Sophan by raising money from regular babysitting jobs. This gave her the opportunity to go to school. I think about her day in and day out, and I wanted her to grow up to be a strong, intelligent human being with a bright future despite her rough background. This is why I support her.

She has taught me how to appreciate things in life and that you don't need much to be happy, and I'm really thankful for that. But I knew that every child who values education deserves the ability to learn. I really need your help to support every other child's education in the Leap Chass village because they truly deserve it. This project is dedicated to support a cause that I believe in, and I hope you believe in it too.

100% of your contributions will provide children from a village in Cambodia with uniforms, textbooks, and opportunities for advanced education and vocational training with the mission to enable the future leaders of Cambodia to become self sufficient. Thank you so much!

I wrote a blog post about my perspective after getting to know these kids. If you are interested, click here.
