My name is Mia Simmons and I am 14 years old. In December 2014 I went to Siem Reap, Cambodia and had the privilege to visit the children of the Leap Chaas village. I fell in love with these kids, and we spent the entire day with them playing soccer and getting to know the kids. After we left, I started supporting a 5 year old girl named Sophan by raising money from regular babysitting jobs. This gave her the opportunity to go to school. I think about her day in and day out, and I wanted her to grow up to be a self-sufficient, intelligent, and strong human being with a bright future despite her rough background. This is why I support her.
She has taught me how to appreciate things in life and that you don't need much to be happy, and I'm really thankful for that. But I knew that every child who values education deserves the ability to learn, and I knew I had to do more. So this is why I began The laces&faces Project. The laces&faces Project sells shoelaces to support the education and vocational training of children so that they can lead the world into great things. This project is dedicated to support a cause that I believe in, and I hope you believe in it too.
By buying 2 laces, you are providing one child with education for a whole year. 100% of your contributions will provide children from Cambodia with uniforms, textbooks, and opportunities for advanced education and vocational training with the mission to enable the future leaders of Cambodia to become self-sufficient. Thank you so much!
